Tahlia Rose, Vocalist
Singing from a young age, Tahlia Rose has developed a passion for music and enjoys performing an eclectic mix of songs from a broad range of styles. Her repertoire spans the pop, rock, R&B, soul, funk, jazz, bossa nova, blues, folk, bluegrass and indie genres, and classic pop and rock music from the 60s, 80s and 90s. Her voice has a rich warm timbre, and so with an emphasis on smooth melodic vocals, Tahlia loves to sing emotive songs with beautiful melodies and moving lyrics, songs that relax you and give you goose bumps. She also enjoys singing unique, fun and upbeat songs with driving rhythms that you can groove to.
Some of her favourite artists to perform are Tracy Chapman, Maroon 5, Adele, Dixie Chicks, Sia, Paolo Nutini, James Morrison, Ed Sheeran, classics from The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, and music from 90s bands like Counting Crows, Roachford, Sixpence None The Richer, The Cranberries, Barenaked Ladies, Goo Goo Dolls, and Oasis. She also loves to perform jazz standards and is particularly inspired by the vocal stylings of such artists as Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Alison Krauss, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Tori Kelly, and Alessia.
Tahlia has a professional and relaxed style that is very suited to restaurant and cafe environments where patrons appreciate easy listening music in a chilled setting while enjoying a meal or coffee and conversation. Her musical style is also well suited to wedding ceremonies, and wedding receptions where the couple have a preference for a more romantic music atmosphere with just a dash of dance music, as well as smaller corporate or private events wanting an intimate setting.
Tahlia performs as an acoustic duo with a selection of talented guitarists using acoustic, electric and jazz guitar and also Brazilian and bossa nova flavours in and around Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
